Johnson Funeral Home 2005 South Main Street Vallonia, Indiana 47281 812-358-3341 William David Banks, 86, of Seymour, died at 5:45 p.m. February 19, 2017 at the Lutheran Community Home. He had been ill for about a year. He was retired from Seymour Manufacturing Company. Mr. Banks always enjoyed going to the Coffee Club at Hardees and bench sitting at Wal-Mart. He was born June 9, 1930 in Conway, Arkansas to the late William Michael Banks and Susan Turner Banks. He married Iva Jean Ford Banks on February 21, 1949 in Conway, Arkansas and she passed away on April 12, 2001. Survivors include, a son, Richard Banks of Seymour; 2 grandchildren, Tarrey (Heather) Banks of Indianapolis and Shawna Banks of Seymour; 2 great grandchildren, Lily & Sammy Banks; a daughter-in-law Sharlene Banks; 3 brothers, Louis (Wilma Kay) Banks of Milport, IN, Joseph Banks of Columbus, IN, and Frederick Paul Banks of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 sisters, Gladys Haines and Martha Gene Shelton-Harrell. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia with Steve Barrett officiating. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home Wednesday. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
