Tucson, Arizona
Ruby Louise (Lucas) Daems, a resident of Tucson, peacefully passed away in her home on September 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 27, 1940, in the quiet town of Brownstown, Indiana. Ruby was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew her.
Ruby was the daughter of Kenneth W. Lucas and Hazel M. (Reedy) Schonfeld. She was raised alongside her sister Marjorie D. Lucas and her late sister Patricia A. Shaw. She married Robert J. Daems on December 26, 1983, in Houston, Texas. They built a life full of laughter, adventure, and deep connection over their 43 years together. Ruby was a devoted mother to Troy D. (Shari
K.) Trimpe and late daughter Robbin D. Cook. She was a proud grandmother to Karissa J. (Matt) Bassard, Tiffany N. (Sean) Creason, and Tyler L. Cook. Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandson, Ronan L. Cook, who brought her immense joy. Along with her parents, Ruby is reunited in peace with her sister Patricia Shaw, Brother-in-Law Bernarr Shaw, and daughter Robbin Cook.
Her career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. Ruby worked as a purchasing agent for various companies, shared her passion for homes as a real estate agent, and connected with many through Avon cosmetics. She was also an active member and teacher of The Way Fellowship for over 40 years. Ruby also loved writing short stories and poems capturing her childhood memories on the farm where she was raised, other experiences and her dreams. She also found passion in crafting pottery and decorated clothing with sparkling jewels.
Known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, Ruby cherished every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on October 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery, located at 610 N High St., Brownstown, IN 47220. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Ruby.
Ruby Louise Daems will be dearly missed, while quietly resting until Christ Jesus Returns, yet her spirit lives on in the legacy of love and joy she leaves behind.
