Obituary

Randall Lee Wright, 71, of Crothersville, went home to be with our Lord & Savior on June 14, 2024. Randy was born on May 5, 1953, in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Robert & Martha Jane (Thomas) Wright. He was a 1971 graduate of New Ross High School. Randy served in the United States Air Force from June 1971 until June 1977. He did one tour in Vietnam as a communication specialist. Randy worked as a Qualified Medical Assistant while he lived in Alabama. During his retirement, he worked at the JayC store on the west end of Seymour as a salad preparer. He attended Tampico Christian Church and tried to never miss a Sunday. He was an avid bible reader and started each day in prayer. He was a huge a sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Purdue, the Cubs, and the Colts. He enjoyed a good crossword puzzle, playing solitaire and didn't miss an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. On September 18, 2011, he married Janice S. (Henderson) Murphin Wright, and she survives in Crothersville. Other survivors include his children: Christopher Green of Indianapolis, Joshua (Stacy) Wright of Camby, IN, Robert "Bo" (Pennie) Wright of Taylor, Alabama, & Amanda (Andrew) Richey of Enterprise, Alabama; 2 step children: Patrick (LeighAnn) Murphin of Crothersville & Robin (Allen) Sherfick of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 5 nieces & nephews; brother, Frank (Debbie) Wright of Greenville, SC; a sister, Diana Cook of Muncie, IN. Funeral services for Randy will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home with Randy King officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Leesville Cemetery with full military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tampico Christian Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnsonfh.net
