Obituary

Penny Jo (Thompson) Peters, age 63, of Vallonia, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 7, 2021 with her husband by her side. She was born on February 3, 1958, to the late Earl "Ike" & Carol (Isenhower) Thompson. She was a graduate of Crothersville High School. On November 26, 1983, she married F. John Peters at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vallonia, and he survives. Penny was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life was getting to spend time with her grandkids, "Bubbers" & "Sisroo". She handmade gourds & barnwood signs. She enjoyed painting & birdwatching. She was an avid gardener with a love for flowers. She enjoyed regular visits from her wild chipmunk, Charlie, who she fed right from her hands. Survivors include: her husband John, daughter, Katie (Josh) Prewitt of Tampico, son Jordan (Kelli) Peters of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 grandchildren, Aubree & Easton Prewitt; sister, Mitzi (Alan) Hoevener of Tampico; mother-in-law, Norma Peters of Columbus; several cousins, nieces, & nephews. Penny was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Frederick Peters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Mark Wooten officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 10th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Driftwood Volunteer Fire Department. Online condolences may be expressed at johnsonfh.com.
