Obituary

Peggy Lee Thompson, 92, of Medora, died at 8:10 pm on Friday June 9th, 2023, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. She was born March 24, 1931, in Medora, daughter of the late Roy (Bub) S. and Geneva C. (Hall) Watts. She graduated from Brownstown High School. She furthered her education at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing with an RN BSN degree. Peggy married her high school sweetheart Howard E. (Gene) Thompson on November 17th, 1956, after he completed his service in the Air Force. She was a good athlete in High School. A lifelong Indiana Hoosier basketball fan and an avid equestrian. She retired from Schneck Medical Center after 42 years. She was a member of Fort Ritner United Methodist Church where she was the pianist and transferred her membership to Medora Christian Church. She was a member of the Medora Lions Club and loved to volunteer. She made desserts for everyone, her specialty was anything chocolate, cherry, or chili soup. She is survived by two sons and a son in law: Howard (Stephanie) Thompson, Timothy (Alice) Thompson, Steven Kuszmaul; four grandchildren Tyler, Joshua, Nathaniel (Jessica), and Olivia. Brother Richard (Ana Ruth) Watts and two nephews Ryan (Hannah) Watts and Roy (Rosa) Watts and two great nephews Maddox and Ethan and one great niece Cara. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 43 years, her daughter Pamela (Thompson) Kuszmaul, an infant son Harold, and an infant grandson Aaron. Funeral services for Peggy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Rev. Howard Thompson officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 15th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will take place at White River Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the White River Valley Cemetery or to the Senior Citizens Group of Medora.
