Johnson Funeral Home 2005 South Main Street Vallonia, Indiana 47281 812-358-3341 Norman Wayne Bennett, 71, of Brownstown, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at his home. He had been ill for several years. He was a retired tree trimmer and a former security guard at Waldron High School in Shelbyville, IN. He was born on October 23, 1943 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Charles & Doloris Craig Bennett. He married Raygina L. Smith on September 27, 1989 in Shelbyville and she survives in Brownstown. Other survivors include children, Robert T. Wayne Bennett of Brownstown, Doloris Ann Bennett of Lawrenceburg, IN, and John Wayne Smith of Brownstown; Grandchildren, Angel Sage & Angie Sabra Bennett, Leela Ruthann, Sharon Simone, & Madalyn Grace Smith; brothers, Rudolph Bennett of Florida, Danny & Ronnie Bennett of Shelbyville; 2 sisters, Linda Charwenske & Carol Bennett of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bobby Bennett. Mr. Bennett loved sitting on his front porch watching the world go by. He especially loved his five granddaughters who were the love of his life and really enjoyed watching the 2 oldest ones plays sports. He enjoyed going to flea markets and loved his birds. His family described his as a "wonderful man." Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 3, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Scott Erwin officiating. Friends may call Friday from 11 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Houston Cemetery.
