Norma Louise Hubbard, of Seymour passed away peacefully at her home on March 20, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born to Bee & Hazel (Taylor) Spurgeon on February 5,1924 at home in Honeytown, Indiana.

The Spurgeon family farmed in the Honeytown bottoms most of her life. Norma attended Honeytown Elementary School and graduated from Brownstown High School in 1941. She married Marvin Hubbard on October 10, 1942. After Marvin's military service, they settled in Seymour, Indiana where Norma worked as a teller at Seymour National Bank for 26 years. Most of that time was spent working in the bank drive thru at the corner of 2nd and Walnut. Upon retiring, she used her time volunteering as a bookkeeper at the American Legion in Seymour for 20 years.

Norma was gifted with an incredible talent for playing the piano and organ. She used this gift across Jackson County, including playing for the Elks Club, churches, weddings, nursing homes and over 400 funerals. She enjoyed going to the casinos and playing Bingo with friends, of which there were many.

Norma is survived by nieces and nephews Michael & Susan Spurgeon; Marty & Sally Elmes; Gil & Jane Hubbard; Gary Hubbard; Lu Ann Miller and Jim & Janet Hubbard. Also special great nieces, Rebecca Christner & Allison Brock and great nephew, Rusty Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Raymond Spurgeon.

A celebration of Norma's life will be conducted on Monday, March 31st at 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Christian Church with Mr. Dan Weaver officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions in Norma's honor may be made out to Seymour Christian Church or Honeytown Christian Church.
