Mayme A. Sons, 94, of Seymour, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Schneck Medical Center. She had been ill for 3 days. She attended the Brownstown Pentecostal Church. She had worked at Medora Box Factory, Custodian at Medora School, and a Homemaker. Mrs. Sons was very dedicated to donating money to the Veterans. She was born October 22, 1919 in Medora to the late Charles Williams and Lydia Hubbard Williams. She lived all of her life in Jackson County. On September 24, 1942 in Bedford, IN she married James Arthur Sons and he died on October 10, 2009. Survivors include 7 children, Ruby Sprague of Tennesee, Richard Sons of Nashville, Sondra Acton of Brownstown, Steve Sons of Columbus, Peggy Thompson of Seymour, Don Sons of Brownstown, & Terri Sons of Seymour; 1 brother, John Williams of Indianapolis; 2 sisters, Avis Acton of Seymour & Minnie Weddle of Arizona; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers- James & Arthur Williams; 2 sisters-Myrtle Greathouse & Maude Hess; 1 son- Tommy Wilcutt. Graveside Services will be conducted Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Weddleville Cemetery, Medora with Rev. Ron Cox officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at Johnsonfh.net.
