Obituary
Mary Ruth Watson, 76, of Freetown, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Lake Point Village in Scottsburg, IN. She had been ill for 2 years.
Mary was born on February 17, 1948, in Hazard, KY to the late Otis & Margie (White) Bowers.
She worked at Exopack, Kieffer Paper Mill, Spartans, and Help at Home. She was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles both of Seymour. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales, dancing, working in her flowers, and spending time with her cats.
Mary is survived by her best friend and companion, Mike Waggoner of Brownstown; her daughter, Jennifer (Tom) Nicholson of Vallonia; son, Jerry Zirkel, Jr. of Seymour; grandchild, Jesse Nicholson, brothers: Otis Bowers, Jr. & Roy Bowers; and a sister, Gail Weber.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Annie Carson; and a brother, Lee Bowers.
A Graveside service at Vallonia Cemetery will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit the family on Monday at Johnson Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
