Mark Duane "Mad Dog" Foster, 59, of Salem, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday May 4, 2016 at his home. He had been ill for 18 months. He was of the Christian faith. He was a commercial truck driver for Hartley Trucking. He was a former Vallonia Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, construction and woodworking and had a great love for NASCAR and local dirt track racing. Mark was born May 13, 1956 in Seymour to Harold Eugene "Gene" Foster, whom prededed him in death, and Ruth Wheeler Foster of Vallonia. He lived most of his life in Jackson and Washington Counties. He is survived by his girlfriend, Jane Rappe of Salem, 3 children, Jason (Melissa) Foster, Melanie (Matt) McGlothlin, & Payton (Kate) Foster all of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Coleman and Hannah Foster, Hali, Lara, Mallory, & Wyatt McGlothlin, Jude, Jonah and Jovie Foster; great grandchild, Ella Foster; one brother, Gary Foster of Navarre, FL; one sister, Diana Scott of Palm Coast, FL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, May 9th at Johnson Funeral Home with Matt McGlothlin officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
