Obituary

Marilyn Sue (Johnson) Wright, 85, formerly of Battle Ground, IN, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN, where she had resided since February. Marilyn Sue was born on June 26, 1937, in Vallonia, IN to Harry Leeland Johnson & Sarah Audra Valentine (Emmons) Johnson. After graduating from Vallonia High School in 1955, she worked in Indianapolis as a comptometer operator. On February 15, 1958, she married Ronald Mark Wright at the Vallonia Christian Church. When Ron joined the U.S. Air Force, they lived near several different military bases, including villages near Wiesbaden, Germany. After returning to the States, Marilyn Sue traveled with Ron all over North America by motor home, where they had many fun adventures. Marilyn Sue accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized as a child in the East Fork of the White River in Jackson County, IN. She had been a member of the Vallonia Christian Church and the West Lafayette Christian Church. She enjoyed: cooking, baking, decorating cakes, sewing, needlework, painting, and crafting. She was also a talented quilter. Survivors include her children: Kamron Mark (Sarah) Wright, Fort Wayne, IN; Julie Ann (David) Armstrong, Vallonia, IN; Kurtis Lee (Julie) Wright, Plattsmouth, NE; & Joshua David (Jennifer) Wright, Lafayette, IN. Grandchildren: Kaleb Wright, Fort Wayne, IN; Kammi (Nathaniel) Childers, Leo, IN; Samuel (Erin) Wright, Maryville, TN; Aaron Armstrong, Vallonia, IN; Luke Wright, Plattsmouth, NE; Benjamin Wright, Morton, IL; Alessandra Wright, Plattsmouth, NE; Madeline Wright, Lafayette, IN; and Anthony, Grace, & Willow Klooz, Lafayette, IN. Great-Grandchildren: Markwith, Zackeyus, Annaniah, Lazaruss, & Ezeakiel Childers; & Ava Wright. Sisters: Harriet Goss of Columbus, IN; Virginia Johnson of Brownstown, IN; & Rita Rice of Vallonia, IN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marilyn Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years and her parents. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00pm, Monday, June 26, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Vallonia Christian Church and Lutheran Community Home Assisted Living.
