Judy A. Jones, 84, of Columbus and formerly of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her daughter’s home, with her loving family by her side.

Judy was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church. She worked for Cummins Engine Company as a machine operator and later retired from ABC Stewart School.

Judy loved to sew, attend garage sales, gardening, crocheting, being out on the water on her boat, and especially spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Born on July 10, 1941, Judy was the daughter of Thomas Van Giles and Thelma Irene Dixon Hopkins. On August 1, 1991, she married Lyle “Dwight” Jones and preceded her in death on April 24, 2024.

Survivors include her 3 daughters: Lisa (Wayne) Wagers, Columbus, IN, Teresa (Lonnie) Rodgers, Columbus, IN, and Tracy (Tim) Anderson, Greenwood, IN; a step daughter, Vera (Tim) Hatfield, Spraytown, IN; grandchildren: Dillen Rodgers, John Paul Everrod, Lindsey Everrod McKee, Jessica Wagers, Taryn Anderson, Timmy Anderson, & Tamara Anderson; great grandchildren, who referred to her as “Ma”: Devon Rodgers, Bianca Rodgers, Ezekie Rodgers, Eryka Richards, Zayne McKee, Jada Carr, Jacob Rodgers, Dillen Rodgers Jr., Olivia Richards, & Brayden Everrod; step grandchildren: Corey Simmons & Kendra Simmons; a step great grandchild, Brayden Simmons; 2 great great grandchildren, who called her “Granny”: Maddex & Grayson a brother, Frances “Frankie” Reynolds of Columbia, KY; & sisters: Dee Giles of Florida & Mary Jane Lewis of Taylorsville, IN.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Charles Giles, Travis “Buck” Giles, & Michael Giles; a sister, Janie A. Giles Spaneer; children: Michael “Keith” Feese, Vanessa Jane Feese, & Jeffrey Dale Feese.

Funeral services for Judy A. Jones will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, with Pastor Tim Lichtley officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Smallwood Cemetery.
