Jon Alan Doerr, 68, of Seymour, died unexpectedly at his home at 2:31 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2017. He was a member of the Vallonia Christian Church. He was a 1968 graduate of Brownstown Central High School and in 1973 he received an Assoicate's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Indiana Business College. From 1973-1981 he taught and served as an Assistant Principal at Indiana Business College. After that he worked 17 years for Schwan's Home Delivery. Jon enjoyed reading, playing cards, visiting and socializing with friends, NASCAR, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his cat Macy. Jon was born September 22, 1949 in Seymour to the late George "Marvin" and Gladys Burcham Doerr. On March 16, 2002, he married Joyce Hounshel Boggs Doerr and she survives in Seymour. Other survivors include 2 sons, Christopher Doerr of Temple, GA and Matthew Boggs of Seymour; daughter, Kelly Boggs Brenton of Franklin; step son, Rob Allman of Guntersville, AL; 3 grandchildren, Emily Doerr, Logan Meadows and Milo Brenton; brother, Marvin "Bud" Doerr of Alamo, TX; sister, Norma Lambert of Bedford; nephew, Doug Doerr of Ft. Wayne, and a niece, Stephanie Doerr of Alamo, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-n-law, Marvena Doerr. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit Sunday, November 26th from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home and from noon until time of service Monday. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
