He was a graduate of Vallonia High School. He attended the Uniontown Baptist Church. He was a self-employed logger. He was member of the Medora Coon Hunters Club. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was born September 12, 1934 in Clay County, KY to the late Joseph Benge and Nancy Jane Howard Benge. He lived most of his life in Jackson County. In 1953 he married Elizabeth Ann Plummer and she passed away December 11, 2014. Survivors include 4 children, Irvin Lee (Jill) Benge of Crothersville, Martie Benge (Carl) Brassine of Medora, William C. (Kelly) Dillard of Vallonia, and Natasha Jane Benge of Bedford; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 daughter, Kathy Jane Benge, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday, April 24th at the Johnson Funeral Home with Irvin Benge officiating. Friends may call Saturday, April 23rd from 4-8 pm and Sunday from 1 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery.
