John William Wheeler, 66, of Vallonia, died on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. He had been ill for 2 years. John was born on September 17, 1957, in Washington County to the late Bill Wheeler & Mary Hicks Wheeler. He was a graduate of Salem High School and a United States Army Veteran. John's greatest joy was working at Darkis Sawmill and running his edger. Survivors include his son, William "Will" (Jessie) Wheeler of Scottsburg; a daughter, Britiany (Dylan) Quick; grandchildren: Briannah Wheeler, Marli Beedie, Jackson & Jensyn Quick; Sisters: Dorothy Underwood, Vallonia, Edna Hotz, Vallonia, Anita Smith, Seymour, Wilma Charnes, Bedford, Billie Marshall, Pekin, Vera Bevilheimer, Franklin, NC, & Virginia Perez, Parsons, KS. John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Sue Day. Visitation for John will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia.
