Jerry Shelton, 81, of Freetown, died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Jerry was a member of the Freetown Church of Christ. He was born on July 23, 1937 to the late Charles Eli Shelton & Mary Elizabeth Fleenor Shelton. Survivors include one brother, Joseph Eli Shelton of Seymour. Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel, John, Waldo, James Howard & Grover Shelton and sisters, Martha Jane Abner, Myrtle Coghill, Mary Wolter, Helen Marie McFarlin & Mildred Hurley. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23rd at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Barry DeWitt officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, April 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Freetown Church of Christ.
