Jeff Collins, 68, of Vallonia, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 1:20 a.m. at his residence. He had been ill since January 2012. He was a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church. He was a Truck Driver (OTR). He was a member of Salem Eagles and Space Mountain. Jeff enjoyed singing karaoke, family events, playing cards, westerns, wrestling, horseshoes, cornhole, 4-wheeler riding and UFC Fighting Boxing. Mr. Collins was born March 22, 1945 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late John and Vivian Couch Collins. He moved to Washington County in 1980. He married Barbara J. Collins on September 22, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio and she preceded him in death in 1990. Survivors include 3 children; Jeffery D. Collins of Cincinnati, OH, Michael T. (Rebecca) Collins of Salem, IN, Cami S. (Roy) Monroe of Seymour, IN; brothers, Eldon (Margaret) Hinote of Georgia, and Billy Smith of Ohio; Sisters, Bertha Gibson of Cincinnati, Ohio, & Bonnie Trapp Hinote of Georgia; Grandchildren, Brandon Monroe, Landon Collins, Vivian Curtsinger, Gabrielle Curtsinger, Jacob Monroe, Lydia Monroe, Chloe Collins, and Chandler Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Greg Underwood officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. til service time. Graveside Service will take place Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Withamsville, Ohio. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.
