He had been ill for 5 months. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of the Medora Wesleyan Church. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1983 after 26 years of employment. He was a member of the Diesel Workers Union with Cummins and the Carr Township Conservation Club. He was a 1941 graduate of Salem High School. Mr. Reynolds was born February 23, 1924 in Washington County to the late James Richard & Flora Maude Trueblood Reynolds. He has lived in Jackson County since 1949. He married Martha Peek Reynolds on July 5, 1946 in Salem and she died January 12, 2005. Survivors include children, Marvin W. (Connie) Reynolds, Linda Proffit both of Medora, James A. (Debra) Reynolds of Seymour and Wanda (Marc) Garrett of Brownstown; 12 Grandchildren, Michael (AJ) Reynolds, Marty (Lori) Reynolds, Tim D. (Suanne) Reynolds, Brad Proffit all of Medora, Mark W. (Staci) Reynolds of Brownstown, James R. Reynolds of Arkansas, Alisha (Sherman, III) McElfresh of Freetown, James A. (Crystal) Reynolds of Southport, Autumn (Ben) Hockett of Colorado, Cory Reynolds of Alaska, Leah (Matt) McPike of Vallonia, and Jared Garrett of Tampico; 29 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, 3 step Great Grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 8 brothers—Orval, Clarence, Curtis, Ellis, Charles, Darwin, Virgil, Edgar Ray Reynolds and 2 sisters—Elverna Miller and an infant sister Myrtle, 1 great granddaughter and a son-in-law, Jr. Proffit. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 15th at Johnson Funeral Home with Clarence "Skip" Breeden officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Proctor Cemetery/Dixon Chapel. Full military rites will be conducted. Memorial contributions may be given to Medora Wesleyan Church or to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
