Obituary

Helen Lavern (Terkhorn) Feller, 92, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at her home. She had been ill for 1 month.

Helen was born on March 27, 1932, in Salem, IN to the late Murl & Edith (Shafer) Peugh. She was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church and worked for Big Blue, The Pines, REMC, and Winklepleck Weesner Funeral Home.

Helen married Wally Terkhorn and together they had 3 children: Becky (Jim) Baker, Gary (Glenna) Terkhorn, & Cathy Self (Dave). Other survivors include grandchildren: Chris Baker, Cassie Jordan, Mitch Ray, Matthew Ray, Jerry Zollman, Dea Rudicel, Karma Montgomery, Branson Self, Andon Self, Courtney Galven, Lauren Ping; great grandchildren: Eleanor Jordan, Lynley Ray, Chase Rudicel, Emily Rudicel, Conner Montgomery, Logan Montgomery, Grayson Montgomery, Collin Zollman, Allison Zollman, Dominic Galven, Hanx Galven, Millie Galven, Abram Stark, & Nora Ping; great great grandchildren: Paisley Carr, Riley Carr, Arlie Montgomery, & Junah Montgomery; a sister, Wilma Humphrey, a special niece that was thought of as a daughter, Connie (Terkhorn) Langlais; and several other nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lee Henry Peugh.

Helen was a very independent head strong woman. She loved to shop and took a lot of pride in herself. She wore lovely scarves and jewelry (pearls being her choice). Helen never met a stranger and loved to talk to people. She loved going to the casino and buying scratch-off tickets. Helen loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids and enjoyed traveling with her friend Faye. She loved animals, especially her cats Lucky, Cally, & Riley. Her favorite snack was a hot fudge sundae, so the next time you partake in one yourself, give a cheer to Helen!

A celebration of Helen's life will be held from 11:00a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Michael Hogg officiating.
