Harold Eugene "Gene" Foster, 87, of Vallonia, died at 11:32 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Schneck Medical Center. He had been seriously ill for 1 week. He was a Navy Veteran and served in WWII. He was of the Christian Faith. He worked as a Foreman at Farm Bureau Co-Op. Mr. Foster was born May 29, 1925 in Noblesville, IN to the late Lester Travis Foster and Agnes Ann Sovern Foster. He lived most of his life in Jackson County. He married Ruth Wheeler on August 24, 1946 in Haleysburg and she survives in Vallonia. He is also survived by his children: Diana Foster Scott of Palm Coast, FL, Gary Gene Foster of Navarre, FL, and Mark Duane "Mad Dog" Foster of Salem; 2 brothers, Bill Foster of Vallonia and George Foster of Chesapeake, Virginia; 3 sisters, Virginia Boling of Medora, Irene Cole of Seymour, & Mary Kozik of Seymour; 12 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, & 3 Great Great Grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home with Steve Muster officiating. Friends may call from 1 until service time Wednesday. Burial will take place in the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association. Service: Wednesday, February 13 2 P.M.
