Johnson Funeral Home 2005 South Main Street Vallonia, Indiana 47281 812-358-3341 Glenn Ivan Tiemeyer, 85, of Vallonia, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at 3:23 p.m. at the Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. He had been ill for 1 month. He had been a sergeant in the Air Force from 1948-1951. He was a member of the Halyesburg Nazarene Church and the Brownstown Masonic Lodge #13. He graduated from Vallonia High School. He drove trucks for Kiefer Papermill for 32 years, Medora Brick Plant for 3 years, and Bundy Brothers for 3 years, and he also farmed and raised produce with his father starting in 1936 and continued on with his sons to this present day. He was born February 2, 1928 in Vallonia to the late Louis & Hattie Maye Wilcutt Tiemeyer. He has lived all of his life in Vallonia, IN. He married Minnie Ilean Wheeler on November 29, 1952 in Brownstown and she survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Lynn Ivan (Shery) Tiemeyer of Vallonia and Timothy Jay (Jane) Tiemeyer of Vallonia; 1 sister, Dottie Duncan of Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Luke & Ben (Jodi) Tiemeyer, Jessica (Jason) Zotz, Katie & Kourtney Tiemeyer; 6 great grandchildren, Jalen, Kiernan, Quentin, Gavin & Will Tiemeyer and Colin Zotz. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bernard Tiemeyer; 3 sisters, Opal Pease, Eileen Rucker and Faye Gelfius. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Matt Roberts and Jerry Wheeler officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Schneck Foundation, Haleysburg Nazarene Church, or to the Hoosier Christian Village. A Masonic service will begin at 1 p.m. followed by his funeral service.
