Johnson Funeral Home 2005 South Main Street Vallonia, Indiana 47281 812-358-3341 Esther Marie Peters, 93, of Vallonia, died at 7:14 p.m. July 9, 2017 at the Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vallonia. She had worked at Seymour Manufacturing Company and then in 1951 she started working at Marion Kay Spices until she retired in February of 2012. She was born on September 28, 1923 in Seymour to the late George W. and Emilie Buse Droege. On May 28, 1949, she married Herschel J. Peters at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1995. Survivors include a sister in law Verna Pruess Droege of New Albany; 3 nieces, Renata (David) Lewis of Charlestown, Carolyn (Edward) Mayfield of Corydon, and Phyllis (Delmar) Ellis of Fairmont, Minnesota; 3 great nieces, Adrienna (Jeffery) Hester, Naomi (Brad) Leeman, and Amelia (William) Stohr; 3 great nephews, Joshua Garber and Jonathan & Jacob Ellis; a God son, Loren Rueter; close friends, David & Barb VanAntwerp and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Alice and Margaret Droege and a brother, Wilfred Droege. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Jordan McKinley officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 10 until time of service at the church. Burial will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
