Eric Keith Evans, 52, of Crothersville, died at 2:15 a.m. December 24, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Eric was an On-Site Manager at Rehrig Pacific Company in Seymour. He was also the former Chief of Police for the town of Versailles, IN and a former Patrolman for Hanover Police Department. Eric was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed playing Euchre, fishing, camping, shooting, and most of all spending time with his family. Eric was born on December 3, 1970, in Madison, IN, to Ronald Keith Evans and the late Norma Jean "Jeanie" Huelson Evans. He married Melissa Mejean Evans on July 9, 2016, on Skyline Drive in Brownstown. Eric is survived by his father, Ronald; wife, Melissa; daughter, Abigail Kate Evans; step-children: David Shuffitt III, John (Chanel Martinez) Shuffitt, Jacob (Tori Miller) Shuffitt, Zoe Shuffitt, & Haley Lawson; grandchildren: Loryn & Bo Shuffitt, Jasmine & Lucas Charles; sisters: Belinda (John) Lawburgh, Angela (Mark) Sadler, & Joanna (Mike) Sawalich. Funeral services for Eric will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Gary Dyer officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Johnson Funeral Home.
