Emerson Franklin "Frank" Finley, 75, of Seymour, died on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 9:30pm at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He graduated from Austin High School and was of the Catholic faith. He retired from the Airforce in 1974 after 20 years, during his 20 years he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He moved to Jackson County in 1996 and had previously lived in Bartholomew County also. He was born on November 7, 1937 in Scottsburg the son of Earl Edward Finley and Maymie Cole Finley. On July 26, 1996 in Columbus he married Connie Wheeler Finley- she survives in Seymour. Survivors include his wife of Seymour; Children: Angie Davies of Colorado Springs, Michael Finley (Lora) of Littleton, Colorado, and Sandy Schmidt of North Platt, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; four brothers: Joe Finley (Dezra) of Franklin, Roy Finley (Wanda) of Taylorsville, Kevin Poore of Seymour, & Raymond Finley (Dorothy) of Morgantown; one sister: Sue Kincaid (Bob) of Franklin; and a brother-in-law: Ralph Walker of Crothersville. He was preceded in death by his parents; Son: Ronnie Finley; Brother: Edison Ray Finley; and a Sister: Juanita Walker. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 4-8pm at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia and also from 11-12noon on Friday prior to services at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12noon on Friday at Johnson Funeral Home with Michael Hogg officiating. Burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted.
