Elizabeth Joy Hauer, of Brownstown, IN, passed away at 2:07 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Hoosier Health & Living.

Joy was born in Brownstown, IN on July 11, 1935, to the late George and Effie (Rumph) Verble. She was a member of Brownstown Methodist Church and a homemaker.

On October 3, 1953, Joy married Keith Hauer. They were married 53 years when Keith passed away on October 17, 2006. Keith was the former owner of Keith Standard Service in Brownstown for 34 ½ years.

Joy is survived by her children: Jack & Lydia Hauer of Brownstown, Michael & Debbie Hauer of Orleans, IN, Tracy Troxell of Seymour, and Brian & Sherry Hauer of Brownstown; a brother, Terry Verble of Medora; & 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service was held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Vallonia Cemetery.
