Elizabeth Ann Benge, 78, of Medora died on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 12:05am at Hoosier Christian Village. She had been ill for 7 years. She was born on November 2, 1936 in Seymour the daughter of Verlin and Georgia Mae Martin Plummer. She graduated from Medora High School in 1954 in which she was Valedictorian of her class. In 1953 in Medora she married Johnie G. Benge, he survives. Mrs. Benge was a member of Grace Community Church in Brownstown and she had worked as an accountant for the Division of Family and Children when it was in Brownstown. Survivors include her husband: Johnie G. Benge of Medora; Children: Irvin Lee Benge of Crothersville, Margaret Ann Brassine of Medora, and Natasha Jane Benge of Bedford; Numerous grandchildren, Great and Great Great Grandchildren; and one Sister-in-law: Carolyn Plummer. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Kathy Jane Benge in 1997; and a brother: Jerry Plummer. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 4-8pm and also one hour prior to service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2pm at Johnson Funeral Home with Richard Blocker officiating. Burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery.
