Donald Maurice Lokey, 77, of Vallonia, died at 3:10 a.m. Monday, June 08, 2015 at Schneck Medical Center. He had been ill for 17 months. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Vallonia Christian Church. He was the former owner/operator of Lokey Timber. Mr. Lokey loved to garden, spend time with his family and just socialize with anyone. Mr. Lokey was born March 14, 1938 in Dayton, Arkansas to the late William & Edith Dill Lokey. He had lived in Indiana for 55 years. On July 1, 1961 in Brownstown, IN he married Wanda Faye Weddell and she survives in Vallonia. Other survivors include his children, Steve (Joyce) Lokey of Vallonia, Sherri (Rick) Amers of Brownstown, Diane (Steve) Johnson of North Vernon, Phyllis (Charlie) Riggle of Roachdale, IN, and Cindy Snyder of Vallonia; 8 grandchildren, Levi Lokey, Ricky Amers, Samantha (Heath) Jones, Steve (Angie) Johnson Jr., Christy (Chris) Hahn, Charlie (Laura) Riggle, Aaron (Nikki) Riggle, & Tanya (Roy) Cravens; 14 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Bob Lokey of West Virginia, Rex Lokey of Oklahoma, Jack Lokey of Oklahoma, Mike Lokey of Arkansas & Danny Lokey of Arkansas; 3 sisters, Joy Whatley of Oklahoma, June Edwards of Texas, and Margaret Karl of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Buddy Lokey and 1 sister, Betty DeFord. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Weddleville Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted. Memorial contributions can be given to Johnson Funeral Home or the donor's choice.
