He was a member of the Vallonia Christian Church. He was retired and formerly worked for K-Mart in Kona, HI, Walmart Distribution in Seymour, and Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour. He was born October 22, 1945 in Seymour, IN to the late Oris G. Johnson and Delores M. Slade Johnson. He lived most of his life in Jackson Co., IN. On January 11, 2008, he married Moira Ann Smith and she survives in Seymour. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Tim (Julie) Minich of New Albany, IN, Mrs. Lee (Jill) Hagan of Concordia, MO, and Mrs. Malcolm (Kristin) Dwyer of Glendale Heights, IL; 2 step sons, Patrick Powers of Hawaii and Howard Powers of Ft. Lewis, WA; 3 brothers, Oris G. (Jane) Johnson of Chesterfield, MO, Larry J. Johnson of Seymour, and Gene P. (Mary Beth) Johnson of Vallonia; 1 sister, Mrs. Eugene (Mary J.) Fleetwood of Seymour; 8 Grandchildren, Gretchen, Ava, & Luke Minich, Caroline & Jack Hagan, Rory, Keira, & Zoey Dwyer; 4 step grandchildren, Cody, Sacha, Kiera & Cullen Powers. Lots of nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will take place in the Vallonia Cemetery.
