Darlene C. (Holt) Shelton, 72, of Brownstown, passed away at 9:33 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and then went to the Indiana Institute for Med Tech & Medical Assistant school in Indianapolis. She started working at Jackson County Schneck Hospital in 1966 in the Physical Therapy Department and continued working there until 2010. She enjoyed camping, working in her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Maggie. Darlene was born on October 4, 1946 in Seymour to the late Wade & Gennibee Holt. She married Donald D. Shelton on June 11, 1967 in Brownstown and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2004. Survivors include her 2 sons, Tyson (Sandra) Shelton of Hope Mills, NC and Trent (Beth) Shelton of Brownstown; 5 beautiful grandchildren whom she adored, Morgan, Adam, Luke, Addie & Drew; 2 nieces, Teresa Stuckwisch & Karen (Greg) Otte; & 1 brother, Wade (Cheryl) Holt, Jr. of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Diane Weddell. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Sunday, July 14th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
