He was a retired Army Veteran. He attended the Medora Christian Church. He had been employed with Kyser Aluminum in Bedford and then drove a truck for Jackson-Jennings Co-Op. He was a member of the VFW in Mitchell and the American Legion in Seymour. He was a 1969 graduate of Brownstown Central High School. Mr. Abner enjoyed horses and camping. He was born April 11, 1951 in Seymour to the late Charles W. Abner Sr. and Martha Jane Shelton Abner. He had lived in Jackson Co. his whole life. Survivors include his children, Lori Kistner & Holly Tate both of Virginia and Brandon Fields of Heltonville; grandchildren, Cayden, Gracie and Corbin Fields; Sisters, Pam Sims and Becky Zirkel both of Medora and Margaret Rouse of Carmel; nieces and nephews, Jason Weddell and Brad Holstine both of Medora, Kim Allman of Brownstown, Julie Gorbett of North Vernon, Jennifer Rouse of Carmel, IN and Chris Rouse of Clayton, IN.
