Obituary

Betty Sue Elliott, 78, of Medora, passed away peacefully, at her home, with her family by her side, on Sunday morning, June 14, 2026.

Betty graduated from Medora High School. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora. She worked at the Covered Bridge Café in Medora, Medora Community School, and was a housewife.

Betty enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows, and sitting on her front porch watching the cars go by.

Born on October 30, 1947, Betty was the daughter of Oscar F. and Leatha I. (Nowling) Earl, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 2, 1967, Betty married David Wayne Elliott and he survives in Medora.

Betty is also survived by her children: Donnetta (Larry) Bennett, Medora and David L. (Heidi) Elliott of Bedford; grandchildren: Morgan Smith, Nickolas (Tabitha) Smith, Whitney (Matthew) Brock, Brayden (Josie) Watson, Lily Stroh, & Tanner (Brooke) Bennett; great grandchildren: Arrabella Smith, Laityn Smith, and Wylie Brock.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Franklin Earl and Harold (Dean) Earl; and sisters: Lorene Elkins, Martha Fleetwood, and Maymie Kiser.

Funeral services for Betty Sue Elliott will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora, with Pastor Jordan McKinley officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Proctor Cemetery at a later date.
