Obituary

Alfred Lee Boling, 84, of Medora, died at 2:59 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home. He was an Army Veteran. Alfred was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Brownstown. He worked for the Shoe Factory, the Medora Brick Plant and then retired from Kieffer Paper Mill. Alfred was a fixer upper and a handyman but his greatest enjoyment was playing the guitar at his church and being a part of the Hilltoppers. He was born on January 10, 1935 to the late Archie Boling & Mildred Olmstead Boling Smith. He married Virginia E. Foster on January 3, 1967 and she survives in Medora. Other survivors include his children, Lori & John Journell of Ohio, Rick & Kitty Foster of Medora, and Pam Delph of Seymour; grandchildren, Josh & Jacob Little, Betsy Foster, Keith Robbins, Holly Johnson & Jody Steinkamp; several great & great great grandchildren; & a sister, Jennie Wayman of Medora. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother—Archie Boling Jr., 2 sisters—Mary Bowers & Brenda Collett, and a grandson—Travis Foster. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Steve Muster officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 25th from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery and Military Graveside Rites will be conducted. Memorial contributions may be given to Hilltop Pentecostal Church or to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
