Cheryl (Mann) Cartwright

February 28, 1945 - January 14, 2022

Cheryl (Mann) Cartwright, 76, of Brownstown, passed away at 10:35 am on Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home with her children and family by her side. Her health had been declining for 6 months. Cheryl was born on February 28, 1945, in Bedford, IN to the late James Franklin Mann Sr. & Gracie Lucille (Jones) Gerkin. She was a 1963 graduate of Mitchell High School. On September 20, 1963, she married Darrell Andrew McKinney and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2012. She married Charles “Don” Cartwright on August 8, 1991, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2018. Cheryl was a stay-at-home mom, babysitter, and a waitress and cook at Brock’s Restaurant. She is survived by her son, Darren Clark McKinney (Sara Richard), and daughters: Keely Wynn (Keith) Harlan, Kelly Lynn McKinney, Abby Kynn (Justin) Davis, Katie (Denny) Wilson & Michelle (Randy) Turmail; grandchildren: Gracie (Steffen) Lewis, Lance (Rachel) Mails, Travis (Kristian) Mails, Kyle Mails, Alexis Mejean, Gavin (Hilliary) Gay, Schyler (Emily Sommers) Gay, Keaton (Briana) Gay, Elizabeth “Libbie” (Jeff) James, Drake VonDielingen, Jaron Davis, Ethan (Kasey) Wilson, Leslie (William) Holder, & Rachel (D.J.) Rouse, Katie & Kylie Richard, Macey (King) Shafer, & Brent King; 25 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a brother, James Franklin Mann. Cheryl loved her dog, Simon. She loved to sew, cook from scratch, and was known for her homemade noodles, yeast rolls, pies, and jelly rolls. She loved to dance and was a huge fan of Billy Joel & Tina Turner. Her children were her life. A Celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date.
